This is a hand thrown Vase carved with a stylized foliage pattern. For this one the pattern was created by cutting away the background. Its a lovely effect, but very time consuming. The leaves are picked out in a soft satin green against a translucent gloss brown background for contrast.  As with all my pieces the pattern is carved freehand to fit the item so can never be exactly duplicated. All my pieces are created individually by me in my home studio. I work in stoneware, so items are pretty tough, food & dishwasher safe.
